With over a month of beta testing behind us we are now gearing up to get ready for the release of VRC Pro. The beta testers have been very impressed but also very critical about what they experienced in VRC Pro. Impressed with the flow of the game, the HD graphics, the major improvements on the physics resulting in ultra realistic car behavior and of course with multi-player. Critical too on small details on the content, especially on tracks and chassis, and the whole development team has been hard at work to play catch up with the testers. But all for the good. We think we now have a package that is very close to be released to r/c racers around the world. And don’t worry about the minimum system requirements, we are working on supporting pixel shader 2.0 graphics cards and pressing memory consumption so VRC Pro can also run on lower performance machines.
In less than a month of testing some racers have driven several thousands of kilometers, Dominique Dordigue from France topping the field with 3956 km. Can you imagine? That is from Amsterdam to beyond Rome, and back again… with a miniature car!
The beta testers praise the ultra smooth multi-player feature, being able to race with anybody in the world is a total blast. The electric cars have been welcomed by all racers, the (free) 13.5T spec class is a great hit and is the most active class. Somehow the beta tester group was more interested in electric because that’s new in VRC Pro, but VRC v3 nitro aces Pignotti, Parisi and Hattich have been driving the wheels off their 1:8 and 1:10 nitro cars and are delighted with how realistic these cars drive now.
The social network community site VRC World has come alive with lots of exchanges between racers, like tips and scraps, setups are being shared, real and virtual rc pictures and videos are hot!
Lucky beta testers…. You will have to wait a few more weeks but it is really close now!
