15-04-2009 - VRC Pro promo site launch
Trial members and full members will have access to various types of racing, offline practice mode,
online time trial mode and event mode and online multiplayer mode.
Trial members can of course only use the free generic cars and free public tracks in any of these modes.
The off-line Practice Mode lets the member practice in 3 ways, free practice without timing, and practice and race mode with timing. Results are not uploaded to the server and not published.
The online Time Trial Mode is like timed practice but with the results being published on the VRC website. In Time Trial mode the member races against computer animated opponents using artificial intelligence to race proper racing lines, make passes and avoid crashing into other cars.
The online event mode lets members participate in simple racing formats with qualifying and finals, against computer animated opponents. All results are published on the VRC website. A racer may advance to the next level when he qualifies among the preset number of best racers for that round. This is a very popular format where thousands of racers are participating in at the moment. The events and series are organized by VRC.
Online multiplayer mode lets racers from around the world race against each other in real time. Multiplayer sessions will be hosted on the pc’s outside of VRC and may be class specific or open, meaning someone can allow 1:8 and 1:10 nitro cars to race at the same time. During a multiplayer session the organizer (master) can trigger the start of a qualify run with staggered start, or the start of a race with grid start. The results of online multiplayer sessions will not be published on the VRC website. In the future VRC may organize and host multiplayer competitions itself.
